This time, I’ll get right out of the way and start with my excerpt:
The dessert is a masterpiece: a thick disc of chocolate cake, encased in dark chocolate icing, sits on a square white plate. Slashes of red raspberry sauce crisscross the cake and plate. Three plump raspberries huddle on top of the disc and whisper conspiratorial secrets. Turns out the cake should be more worried about Samantha’s fork than the harmless fruit.
Malcolm plucks a raspberry with his free hand and pops it in his mouth. “Delicious … hey, you’re the food expert. Don’t you think raspberries look like nipples?”
“Yeah, yeah they do,” Samantha gets out, but it’s clear that her focus is wavering.
This excerpt is from my short story “Steakhouse Love”—I had to include one more snippet from this story because of the delicious dessert! As we near Cake and Cunnilingus Day (April 14), you see.
I put this snippet out there for Weekend Writing Warriors, who include snippets from published writing or words in progress. Follow that link to get to the list of them—lots to find there.
An overall description about the story: It follows three couples as they dine in a steakhouse and act on their lust in different ways. Two of the couples pull off wickedly fun activities in the steakhouse itself, while the third couple carries their passion back to their hotel. True to the cover of the story, one couple (Joy and Jason) slips into the ladies room for some adventurous fellatio. The other couple (Malcolm and Samantha), just as adventurous, gets frisky right at their table in the restaurant as Malcolm stealthily slides his fingers into her and gives her pleasure while others around them keep eating their dinners. Margaret does pick up on the sexiness afoot (and ahand), and it inspires her to fire up the passion with her husband, Hank.
