20 Poems in 5 Words

Just before Halloween, I discovered a trend on Twitter (@AugustMacGregor) of Scary Stories in 5 Words. I tried it out and had a good time with it … click here for those.

During NaNoWriMo, I’ve been taking breaks to try poems instead of scary stories in 5 words. Micro poetry instead of micro fiction. So here are my attempts at very short poems:

  1. LifeSavers candies: Not flotation devices.
  2. Whew! Dog/cat truce holding steady.
  3. Autumn: apple cider nectarous days.
  4. Spider’s multifarious dancing on web.
  5. NaNoWriMo: Word count mountain climb.
  6. NaNoWriMo: Fingertips drumming on keyboards.
  7. Traffic jam creates one-man concert.
  8. Burning yard faster than raking.
  9. Leaves all gone; naked trees.
  10. Naked, he carefully cooked bacon.
  11. Evening fog: Horror story atmosphere.
  12. Sun Also Rises: Moon jealous.
  13. Library hushed. Sorry, thoughts’re loud.
  14. Obligatory poem about cute kittens.
  15. Writing story folds; creating origami.
  16. Laughter is infectious, beautiful music.
  17. Sorry Odysseus, GPS came later.
  18. Guitar solo; crowd becomes hypnotized.
  19. Kept warm by softest blankets.
  20. Smellfie app: Share body odor!
