Gianna loved his weekend workouts at the gym, and she admonished him against showering there.

For she loved when he stepped out of the shower in their home, and he walked right into their bedroom. His body swollen from work and the pride of accomplishment. His endorphins charged like electricity. His blood throbbed, fueling him throughout his entire delicious body.

Her fingers adored exploring his body, even though they’d done it many times before. They hadn’t grown bored of him, and she hoped they never would. In the back of her mind, she knew that these muscles wouldn’t stay like this forever. They’d eventually soften and sag and not be nearly as defined. But she looked forward to that, to seeing him change, evolve with age. Because that meant they were still together.

Those days of softer muscles, however, were far into the future. And her fingers were delighted in the present, Zen-like relishing in the moment. The tips of her fingers followed the valleys between the cut muscles like water in a stream coursing between hard hills.

Her fingers also slid over those hills, loving their hardness. The hardness of his whole body, the well-earned result of sweat and effort and pushing himself to keep going despite the temptation to stay home and relax.

Because relaxation would eventually come, and he forced it to wait until after he got home from the gym. Relaxation came as she enjoyed his hardness.

But not all of him was hard. His smile was soft. Warm and soft as her fingers caressed him. Explored the landscape of his body in this weekend tradition. His lips, too, were soft as Gianna kissed him, and more than her fingers touched him.
