Snow Like Diamonds

The snow glittered like diamonds as the sunlight hit it. Drew loved how Angela’s face lit up at the sight.

It reminded him of her eyes when she had opened the box he handed her at the restaurant the evening before, and she saw the necklace. How the candlelight had reflected in her eyes, and how the gems in the necklace sparkled.

“It’s beautiful,” Angela had breathed out when she saw the necklace.

Those were the same words that she said to describe the glittering snow. The same word Drew had used to describe Angela as she walked toward the bed where he lay, in the hotel room, after their dinner. When Angela walked out of the bathroom and toward the bed wearing nothing but that necklace.

She was still beautiful the day later, bundled up against the winter chill. And he loved that she was willing to take a long walk with him in Central Park despite the chill. For there were wonderful sights to be seen in so many places.
