They were
a she and a he,
a he and a he,
a she and a she.

And every couple
loved with a love
that was no different than
the love that was loved
between the other couples.

  2. I like the sentiment but don’t believe it, we are like snowflakes, finger prints, every love is uniquely different.

    • I definitely agree that we are all specially different … and that is a wondrous thing. But I believe that the deep tenderness and affection can be consistent across couples. I have very good friends in gay male and female couples. As I’ve seen them interact through the years, I’ve come to believe that the love they feel for each other is consistent with the love I feel for my wife. We may love different characteristics about each other, but I believe that feeling down deep is consistent. Thank you for taking the time to comment — I appreciate it.

After yesterday’s tragedy in Orlando, I’m reblogging a poem I wrote last year. It’s my own little effort to join the outpouring of love to push against the hate that caused the tragedy.
