The Kiss, by Gustav Klimt

“The Kiss” Gustav Klimt (1907-1908)

This kiss
started it all
pushed me over the edge
into a free-fall

How was I supposed
to know that
wings of gold
would sprout
from our shoulder blades

Allowing us to glide
down to earth to flowery meadow
where our golden wings
folded and covered our bodies

As we kissed,
shimmering in the sunlight,
gold gold golden gods of love
we’ve become glowing gold
covered in Byzantine designs

And created our own
little star upon the ground.

  1. Sounds about right, Gus. I love the image of those gold wings. This is a gem.
