Slicing Apples for Eve

He slices the
humble Fuji apple
to share with her.

This is not a serpent
tricking Eve to eat
a luscious fruit from
the tree of knowledge.

This is Adam having
the knowledge that
this fruit is delicious
and wishing to share
it with his Eve.

For in this Garden of Eden
that’s uniquely theirs,
formed by the things they’ve
chosen to put together,
they will not be banished
unless they can’t keep up
the mortgage payments.

If that ever happened,
they would try so very hard
to create a new Garden
a little humble one
where-ever they could.
